birds and more birds
The Year 7 and Year 8 students were looking at the topic of birds for their art compositions. The Year 7 students developed their bird sketches with black vivid and charcoal and then arranged them on a background of paper they had dyed and then woven. The Year 8 students did a lino print with the bird their main focus and then placed their print in a patterned frame.

Still life compositions
The students from St Heliers who come to me for Art, were looking at still life, in particular the work of Vincent Van Gogh. The students had to draw six objects including an orange and a lemon, colour them with pastel, cut them out and then arrange them in a composition. They then did an abstract painting using the shapes from their still life composition. Here are a few examples of their finished work.
