My Year 8 students did a lino print of a landscape which had to include some form of land e.g. rocks, cliffs, islands etc and water and sky. They explored the work of various New Zealand landscape artists to give them inspiration. They then placed the finished print into a "frame" of objects/things you could find in a landscape e.g. trees, a boat, a lighthouse etc. They coloured their "frame" drawings in with pastel. The Year 7 students were working on a similar theme but instead of doing a lino print as their main feature they did a fish. The students had to draw six objects including an orange and a lemon, colour them with pastel, cut them out and then arrange them in a composition. They then did an abstract painting using the shapes from their still life composition.
